Welcome to the NHS Wales Women's Health Education Hub
This hub is the central resource for all women's health education and learning in Wales, developed by HEIW to support the ambitions of the Welsh Government's Women's Health Plan. Our goal is to provide every healthcare professional with the knowledge and confidence to tackle health inequalities and deliver high-quality, equitable care for women and girls across the nation.
Here you will find a growing collection of e-learning modules, clinical resources, and national referral pathways. This content is open access to all NHS Wales staff, designed to support professionals at every stage of their career.
This page is a dynamic and evolving resource. In partnership and with the support of all Health Boards and key stakeholders across Wales, we will be regularly updating the hub with new HEIW-developed modules and curated content from other sources. Putting lived experiences at the heart of women’s care
People’s identities are shaped by overlapping characteristics and experiences. For example, a young person living in a rural area, who is also from an ethnic minority community or speaks Welsh as their first language, may face additional barriers to accessing healthcare.
This is known as intersectionality.
By recognising how factors such as gender, ethnicity, disability, age and location interact, we can help create a healthcare system that better supports everyone in Wales.
